Job title: Research Associate (Breast Cancer Now)

Job description: Job PurposeProf. Seth Coffelt's lab based at the CRUK Scotland Institute (formerly known as the Beatson Institute) is a cancer immunology group that focuses on the role of gamma delta (gd) T cells during cancer progression. Over the past few years, we have described how different subsets of gd T cells either promote or prevent tumour formation, growth, and metastasis (Edwards et al., JEM 2023, PMID 36480166; Suzuki et al., Cancer Immunol Res 2023, PMID 37309673; Wiesheu et al., EMBO J 2024, PMID 38816652). We have identified a hierarchy within IFNg-producing gd T cells where cells transition from an immature to mature state of differentiation (Wiesheu et al., EMBO J 2024, PMID 38816652). The mature IFNg-producing gd T cells can control primary mammary tumour growth, and now we want to study these cells in the context of breast cancer metastasis to the lung. The project will involve mouse breast cancer metastasis models, flow cytometry, advanced imaging techniques in collaboration with Dr. Leo Carlin.The successful applicant will be highly enthusiastic, driven to succeed and already have a PhD in cancer biology or immunology. As a postdoctoral researcher, the successful applicant will take on a leading role in the project and will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow. The applicant will be among approximately 60 other postdoctoral researchers at the CRUK Scotland Institute and will have access to world-class facilities and career advancement opportunities.Main Duties and Responsibilities1. Take a leading role in the planning and conduct of assigned research individually or jointly in accordance with the project deliverables and project/group/School/College research strategy.2. Document research output including analysis and interpretation of all data, maintaining records and databases, drafting technical/progress reports and papers as appropriate.3.   • Support sampling / monitoring functions pertaining to facilities and utilities in the API, BIO, DPI, Tablets and R&D facilities.
  • Responsible for monitoring program of facilities and utilities as required.
  • Participate in facilities and utilities qualification activities as required.
  • Support laboratory testing for the different drug products, semi-finished drug product and drug substances.
What you will do
  • Perform routine/non-routine quality monitoring, sampling and testing of Utility systems inclusive of Purified water, Water for Injection, Pure steam. Compressed air and Nitrogen systems.
  • Perform the routine/non-routine environmental monitoring for all required plants, facilities, clean rooms, hygienic areas and labs, inclusive of particle monitoring test.
  • Perform personnel qualification and re-qualification and qualification and re-qualification of the clean rooms, when necessary.
  • Provide testing support to plant validation activities
  • Perform in-process and release samples testing of excipient/ packaging components for the different drug products, semi-finished drug product and drug substances. i.e., Bioburden test, Microbial Limits Test, etc., as appropriate.
  • Perform routine and Batch related Environmental monitoring in clean rooms and other production areas and laboratory.
  • Perform Media Receival, Sterility check and Growth Promotion Tests for media used for testing.
  • Perform initial Quality Control check and regular QC checks on ready-to-use cultures and maintenance of cell cultures.
  • Perform microbial identification (Bacteria, mold and yeast) in water, environment and product samples.
  • Perform periodic review of closed out Validation Document packages and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct/support investigations
  • Extend documentation support to the department by participating in writing/revising of SOPs, protocols, Test reports and any other work assigned by Senior, Lead Microbiologist, Sr/ Manager, Microbiology.
  • Solicit quotations of laboratory consumables.
  • Maintain continuous supply of laboratory consumables
  • Participate in Safety, Business Compliance, cGMP and all other compliance-related matters, where applicable.
  • Liaise with other department for training needs and technical support
  • Liaise with vendor and service engineers/ESPs for equipment validation, calibration and maintenance work.
  • Need to coordinate with suppliers of microbiological media and other equipment.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Manager.
What you should haveQualifications
  • Degree in Microbiology / Biotechnology.
  • 0 to 3 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Previous OJT is preferred
  • Good understanding of Safety and cGMP practices
  • Computer Literacy

  • Leverages work process improvements and new tools to the Global Maintenance Tech Center.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking. Currently registered with APEGA (EIT/P. Eng) is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. turnaround, manufacturing or related)
  • Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment (including harnesses with a total maximum weight capacity of 300lbs). Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20% annually (to provide support to Dow's Prentiss site).
  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.

説明feel English school is looking for a new English instructor to begin teaching in March 2025feel School is a well established cram school in the Minamisoma city area, teaching English conversation classes (eikaiwa), English grammar classes as well as math and science since 2006. Despite Minamisoma being a small town it has a lot of interesting spots for visiting and offers a unique perspective on Japanese culture.We aim to help our students experience new cultures through English so they can broaden their perspective on the world. In order to achieve this we are looking for people who are reliable, responsible, enthusiastic, punctual, professional and dedicated as well as highly motivated to teach children and communicate with them.We welcome people to help us make feel School better!●Position : English Instructor●Employment status : Full time●Responsibilities :
・ Instructor for children aged 3 and up (Kindergarten to Junior High School) as well as 10 classes every year for a technical college.・ Office work and other duties including : Preparing for lessons and events, attending meetings for lessons, making lesson materials, etc.●Requirements :・ Native English speaker or Native-like level of English.・ Japanese is not necessary but a conversational Japanese level is highly preferred・ Can work for at least 1 year (Long term preferred)・ Experience as an English instructor for young children preferred・ International Drivers license is not required but highly preferred.●Salary : ¥220,000~¥260,000 per month*The salary is 220,000 yen per month, but is subject to change based on prior experience.The cost of living is significantly different than in other major cities, for example, single-room apartments usually start from 30,000 yen per month.●Benefits :・ Health insurance & Pension・ Paid vacation days・ All teaching materials supplied・ Assistance will be provided for finding accommodation.・ Continued support in everyday occurrences★ Visa sponsorship available●Schedule :・ 5 days a week (40 hours)・ Every day start at 12:30 in the afternoon except 1 day per week・ 1 day per week there is a morning Kindergarten class・ 9 consecutive hours (8 working hours +1 lunch hour)●Vacations :
