This position is responsible for ensuring that all work in process is completed in a timely manner and to a quality level consistent with the plan sponsor and member expectations. This includes planning, scheduling and project management, capacity and utilization management, the delegation of tasks to meet objectives, and tracking the status of work in progress. The incumbent is responsible for identifying improvements in operations that will result in year-over-year operational workload efficiencies for their client group. This position also acts as a resource to clients, third-party administrators and all internal shared services that impact the day-to-day operations. In addition to managing written and verbal communications with clients, the incumbent facilitates meetings, conducts ad hoc conversations and at times acts as the primary contact with clients.
  • Manage strategy and planning for pension administration operations analysis resources (identify and implement operational improvements)

  • 5+ years in defined benefit pension plan administration
  • Experience in operations and in coaching others and optimizing their work

  • French / English bilingualism required due to frequent interactions with clients, colleagues, or partners based in Quebec, other Canadian provinces and/or internationally.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (i.e. journeyman, maintenance, manufacturing, project management, etc.).
  • Prior maintenance field planning experience.
  • Must be willing and able to travel as necessary as outlined in the job description.
  • Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment (including harnesses with a total maximum weight capacity of 300lbs). Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.

  • Represent the National Centre of Excellence – Tech and Med Mal servicing clients and supporting account teams from coast to coast;
  • Continual development of expertise in the tech, cyber, and med mal space through networking, technical training and client discussions;
  • Develop tools and materials to support clients and account teams;
  • Analyze client specific risk exposure and generate coverage requirements for marketing exercises;
  • Prepare and present marketing proposals for renewals and new business;
  • Negotiate with underwriters to establish best terms and conditions with respect to premiums and coverage;
  • Follow up with insurer to confirm terms of negotiated contract are met;
  • Approve documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals;
  • Establish contacts and cultivate relationships within the underwriting community in an effort to achieve the best premiums and coverage for Aon clients;
  • Collaborate with Account Executive to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business;
  • Provide guidance, training and mentoring to assist in the development of young brokers within the department;
  • Participate in client meetings where applicable;
  • Receive general instructions and follow defined procedures, manage daily work within established guidelines;
  • Build productive working relationships with peers and higher-level professionals internally and externally to exchange information and make recommendations;
  • Responsible for compliance documentation and policy review checklists;
  • Leading by example by demonstrating and sharing with all lines of business the importance of best practice; and
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • Insurance experience required; five years minimum
  • Strong technical insurance background with ability to grasp and explain complex risk and insurance principles;
  • Experience with cyber, technology, and/or medical malpractice insurance products is an asset but not a requirement;
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills’
  • Client focused and proven relationship building skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
  • Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;

Education:
  • Broker license preferred but not required (candidate will have to obtain a broker license within the province they reside in as a condition of employment);
  • Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB), Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP), and/or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designations are an asset, but not required
