In this role, you will work closely with the Mechanical C&SU Lead for the new Gas Phase Polyethylene plant to be built on site (LP8) and become a key member of the LP8 Commissioning and Start-up team.After the LP8 Project reaches Return to Operations (RTO), this role will transition to a Maintenance Engineer in the Plastics maintenance (TES) organization.The Path2Zero program will create the first net-zero emissions plant of its kind in the world and is a key enabler to Dow’s Decarbonization strategy. - Support the development of Mechanical Equipment Commissioning and Start-up Procedure & Binder.
- Review the Mechanical Equipment Protection Plan and participate in field audit throughout construction phase.
- Support the development of Mechanical Equipment PPM, Lubrication, Vibration, Lifting device inspection, HVAC equipment PPM Program.
- Collaborate with Reliability Engineer for Equipment Reliability Strategy implementation.
- Review of mechanical spare parts and setup stock quantity aligned with ERS and site requirements.
- Help develop the C&SU database in Provenience for Mechanical Equipment.
- Support the Maintenance Representative to setup plan for Mechanical C&SU resources, mechanical tool and special tool.
- Support the development of Mechanical Equipment repair procedure.
- Review process automation settings for Mechanical equipment
- Support Mechanical Commissioning and Start-up activities.
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- Registration or the ability to be registered with APEGA (EIT/P. Eng).
- Prior relevant work experience is preferred (i.e. maintenance/reliability engineering, commissioning & start-up etc.)
- A background in Plastics Technology is preferred.
- Willing and able to travel up to 10% (domestically & internationally).
- Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment (including harnesses with a total maximum weight capacity of 300lbs). Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
- A minimum requirement for this Canada based position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position.
