• Stay current with the latest industry trends and technologies in data engineering and platform development.

Experiences and skills you'll use to solve

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Data Platform Developer or similar role.
• Strong experience in big data modeling, including star and snowflake schema development.
• Experience with batch and real-time data ingestion and processing.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
• Proficiency with GCP and exposure to at least one other cloud platform.
• Familiarity with various data storage paradigms such as data warehouses, data lakehouses, and data meshes.
• Proficiency with open-source data engineering tools such as Apache Airflow and/or Apache Spark.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with additional data engineering tools and frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Flink, Hive).
• Knowledge of data governance and compliance standards.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
• Understanding of data security best practices and implementation.
• Relevant certifications are strongly preferred (i.e. Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer, Azure Data Engineer Associate, etc.).

PwC BC Region Pay Range InformationThe salary range* for this position is $103,000.00 - $171,800.00, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual bonus payment. • Project Reporting: Support Project Managers in providing periodic updates including project status reports, financial reports (EACs, budget reconciliation), and regular KPIs
• Resource Management: Support Project Managers and Department managers in coordinating resource allocation across projects and managing the team's primary travel schedule; support coordinating with contractors to ensure their availability and travel schedule is successfully integrated into project resource plans

Qualifications

• Must have obtained a high school diploma/equivalent PLUS an Electrical Journeyman Certificate, Red Seal Designation, OR relevant two year degree (or higher) in the electrical discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years relevant experience.
• Prior C&SU experience is preferred.
• A background in Hydrocarbon Technology is preferred.
• Ability to safely work in a plant environment, meet physical demands, work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment (including harnesses with a total maximum weight capacity of 300lbs). Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
• A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including any type of permanent residency support.

• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Mississauga, Ontario or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel.

• At least 4 years of Information Technology experience.

Preferred Qualifications.

• At least 11 years of overall BA experience in Capital Markets domain. Thorough knowledge of one or more Capital Markets data domains i.e. Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, Derivatives, FX Markets, Investment Banking, trading, clearing, settlement, understanding of various risks etc.
• Should be well versed implementing Golden Source across different asset class. Overall understanding of GoldenSource including DataModel, Tables, Vendor Source Hierarchy, RuleSet, onboard Asset Classes, VSH, TimeSeries, Locking and on End to End Data processing - Inbound to Outbound.Good understanding of development methodology.
• Experience in Capital Markets domain and one of the asset class i.e. Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives or FX Markets.
• Analytical and Communication skills
• Planning and Co-ordination skills
• Ability to drive conversation with business teams with minimal support from peers
• Liaise with the Solution Architects, Application Developers and Testers to ensure they understand the functional requirements of the systems
• Experience with Agile project execution
