Consider making a move and join a dynamic and nurturing team environment!About Our Team:At the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) our Senior Social Workers are part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team providing compassionate assessment, support and treatment to infants, children and young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges and their families. We adopt a recovery oriented, child-centered approach that assists our clients to establish practical and attainable goals that improves their wellbeing and functioning and engagement in everyday activities (school, family life, relationships, recreation, play).Our multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals includes psychiatrists, speech therapists, clinical psychologists, occupational therapists, clinical nurses, Aboriginal mental health workers and lived experience staff. CAMHS offers a comprehensive range of services including mental health assessment and specialist counselling, crisis intervention, advocacy, psychoeducation, case management, family support and liaison with other services. Our work includes developing external stakeholder partnerships with local schools and service providers.About the Role:As a Senior Social Worker, you will apply advanced social work skills and knowledge of mental health to conduct a range of interventions including bio-psycho-social mental health assessments and screenings, provision of individual, family or group interventions, case management and client advocacy. All interventions are developed in consultation with the multidisciplinary team. You will work closely with the young person and their families and liaise with community agencies to support the young person’s mental health and wellbeing.You will be an integral part of our supportive and collaborative team and play a key role in helping our patients establish practical and attainable goals, promoting the highest level of function in various aspects of their lives. Your role will also include clinical supervision of other social workers and students as required.Please note a tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers is a requirement for this role.How to ApplyWe welcome your application via the ‘Apply for Job’ button at the bottom of this page. Within these networks there are a range of Community CAMHS Clinics and hubs, Specialised Services and Day Programs and Acute (Central only) services:
– Community CAMHS offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. – The Specialist Services and Day Programs consists of Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways and Touchstone. These programs support children and young people who have complex mental health needs. – Acute CAMHS, based at Perth Children’s Hospital has a mental health inpatient unit (Ward 5A), Paediatric Psychiatric Inpatient In-Reach Team (PPIRT), Eating Disorder Service and Gender Diversity Service.This is an “open-ended” recruitment pool, and as such the following should be noted:

  • The panel will monitor this recruitment pool for applications and will assess on a regular basis.
  • Suitable applicants will be placed in a pool from which appointments may be made when similar vacancies occur.
  • Appointments may be made from this pool until 30/06/2026.
