Job description: Full time, fixed term appointment for 2 yearsOpportunity to utilise your experience providing strategic advice and operational support in a complex environmentBase Salary $150,628 + 17%About the opportunityThe Senior Manager, Higher Degree Research Administration Centre (HDRAC) provides strategic advice, team leadership and operational support for the HDR Administration Centre within the Division of the Academic Registrar, supporting HDR students and ensuring alignment with Faculty, Education and Research portfolio objectives. They manage the provision of HDR administrative support and develop and implement strategies to ensure effective service delivery for students, supervisors and key stakeholders. They also ensure effective governance, compliance and delivery of work area requirements.Your key responsibilities will be to:provide effective management, support and subject matter leadership to the HDR Administration Centre Teamprovide strategic advice and support to the Deputy Registrar and Executive Director (Students)manage the efficient utilisation and deployment of resources within the HDR Administration Centre Teammanage communications and relationships with key faculty and university stakeholdersmanage governance, related compliance, and services across the HDR Administration Centre Teamprovide effective leadership and management guidance and support to the staff in the work area including feedback, coaching and support for individual performance, career and talent development, to build an effective and high performing team.About youpostgraduate qualifications in a relevant field together with extensive experience in operations management, business administration or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experienceproven management experience at a senior level; together with flexibility, capacity to adapt to changing circumstances and environments and, when necessary, navigating through ambiguitydemonstrated experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance management of staff; and experience managing and resolving a diverse range of HR issuesfamiliarity with the HDR administrative lifecycle is desirableeffective in managing a diverse group of key stakeholders on large or complex projects and the ability to develop/cultivate productive relationships with key usersdemonstrated highly developed relationship management skills across all levels of the organisation, inspiring confidence, and trust.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaWork Rights: you must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
