The medical curriculum covers a diversity of content, encompassing biological and social sciences, clinical medicine, law, ethics, research and critical analysis, and personal and professional development. This provides a variety of opportunities for involvement in curriculum delivery for academic staff working alone and in interdisciplinary teams. The Doctor of Medicine (MD) program is delivered primarily on campuses located in Wollongong, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands, as well as in numerous rural sites throughout NSW.About the role:We are seeking an experienced teaching academic to provide clinical education and leadership into the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. This includes academic coordination of the Subject MEDI992 (Phase 2) of the MD Program, which is the first year of immersive clinical placements for the medical students. The position will also contribute to the educational leadership in the position holder’s clinical hospital-based discipline, across the four years of the MD program. This includes academic aspects of the program such as curriculum (review, development, documentation), teaching activities, expert input into assessment content, and evaluation activities.About you:To be successful you will have recent professional practice as well as either a current or anticipated appointment as a medical specialist in the Shoalhaven or Southern Highlands. You must be a qualified medical graduate eligible for unrestricted specialist registration in NSW without conditions on registration.Additionally, you will have a proven ability to deliver high quality teaching in clinical settings, as well as experience in developing and implementing teaching programs and engaging clinical academic staff to support teaching. A strong track record in academic scholarship and the ability to contribute to research aligned with GSM research themes is also essential.How to apply:Applicants are requested to submit a CV and cover letter.   • The occupant of this position must have recent professional practice and current or anticipated appointment as a medical Specialist with Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (Shoalhaven) or Bowral and District Hospital and /or Southern Highlands Private Hospital in the Southern Highlands region.
