– Coatings: Whether it’s a water-based coating or solvent-based coating, a thin film is deposited on materials to enhance specific properties such as enhanced performance, durability, aesthetics, and sustainability.We make diversity and inclusion a priority—because sharing our perspectives and building on each other’s ideas will drive innovation.Could you imagine yourself in a place like this?DOW has an exciting opportunity for a **Sourcing Specialist** located in **Bahia Blanca or Buenos Aires, Argentina**.The Sourcing Specialist will support **Packaging portfolio across Latin America** within the Raw Materials, Packaging & External Manufacturing (RMPEM) sourcing team, which manages the sourcing needs for P&SP;, PU System and C± businesses across LAA.The main purpose of the Sourcing Specialist role is creating value by providing appropriate input into the development and implementation of sourcing strategies and commercial agreements; and negotiating assigned raw materials for execution as purchase orders.This position is a business team member responsible for various sourcing activities pertaining to running the business and contract management, as well providing support for the supply manager in implementing and executing strategy and agreements.**Responsibilities **/ Duties**:– Lead and assist the execution of Sourcing Projects using the Strategic Sourcing Process.
– Leads and coordinates supplier´s relationships.
– Implement commercial agreements for products and services according to the business needs, to maximize the business profitability.
– Implement a Risk mitigation plan in order to avoid plant disruption across LAA
– Collects and utilizes market intelligence to shape purchases/strategic plan.
– Maintain solid knowledge of suppliers and relevant market trends & developments such as economics scenario, mergers and acquisitions, financial status and changes in key personnel.
– Establish a strong communication channel with business to guarantee the appropriate alignment between purchasing and business strategy.
– Utilize available Sourcing tools (e.g. e-RFI, e-RFQ, e-Auctions) to the fullest capability, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Purchasing process.
– Lead and coordinate supplier´s relationship, and effectively manage quality service / product performance issues with suppliers.
– Execute contractual obligations within the delegated scope of responsibility and legal authority.**Experience**:– A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
– Languages: Advanced English & Spanish.
– Working knowledge of purchasing fundamentals and procurement work processes and policies.
– Ability to focus on value delivery and maintaining sustainable competitive advantages.
– Effective negotiator and able to persuade others (internal stakeholders and external suppliers) through effective communication skills.
– Financial and market analysis skills, and effectively manipulate and analyze data.
– Initiative to challenge inefficiencies and process deviations.
– Strong data analysis skills to effectively identify value opportunities.
