Happily positioned between high fashion and formalwear, while taking reference from both, Paul Smith has always been proud to stand apart.As the Made to Measure Technical Assistant, you will process the Made to Measure (MTM) orders for our tailored suiting, working closely with the Technical Design Manager. Processing the MTM orders entails developing a sound knowledge of the offer, the fit and technical knowledge of our tailoring product. The ability to plan and work with tight lead times is essential. Excellent communication skills will be key to achieving MTM deliveries collaborating closely with the technical team, suppliers and stores to achieve the dates and our customer’s requirements.The Role

To maintain the flow and process of MTM orders.
Translate technical measurement requests from orders and communicate to suppliers.
To measure and check the finished tailoring requests, upon receipt from the supplier.
To proactively track MTM orders, ensuring all outstanding orders are followed in a systematic way to completion.
Maintain communication across departments and shops with ‘how to measure / fit the customer.’ Work alongside the Technical Design Manager with training for the MTM tailoring and systems.
Produce workable technical construction diagrams and notes, utilising CAD Illustrator.
Attend meetings to discuss MTM orders, development, and all technical requirements.
To assist with specific tailoring collaborations, and the measuring of product upon arrival.
To measure size sets and maintain file history of MTM orders.
Anticipating and resolving potential technical issues, whilst working in conjunction with the Technical Design Manager, technical team, our in-house pattern room and machinists.
To assist with all general Technical Developer duties, inclusive of fitting, measuring, technical specifications and new supplier developments.
Visit with suppliers to understand technical elements of the MTM product, the processing and manufacturing.
Sound cloth knowledge whilst preparing the technical measurements for the factory to process.

Your Skills and Experience

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Competent user of Corel DRAW, Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop.
Experience of translating design sketches into workable technical construction notes and diagrams.
An understanding of men’s tailoring construction is desirable.

Able to stay calm when working under pressure.
Adept planning, prioritisation and organisational skills to ensure all deadlines are met.
Able to travel within the UK and internationally if required.
