Alternate work scheduleThis is an on-site position. Staff member can apply for one remote work day per week upon successful completion of probationary period. Job Summary/Basic FunctionThis position is responsible for technology management and implementation of education applications that integrate with the universities learning management system (such as learning apps built on LTI). It will also provide support for other educational technologies licensed by the institution or state (such as Respondus), and aid in LMS administration tasks by collaborating with the LMS administrator and providing backup support when necessary. In addition, this position will work with the ISO to develop and/or maintain a standardized process for vetting potential LTIs to ensure student data is private and secure. This position reports directly to the Director of WSU Online in the Division of Online and Continuing Education.NOTE: Weber State University will only consider applicants for this particular position who are currently authorized to work in the USA and who will not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for employment authorization (e.g., H-1B visa).
Required QualificationsRequired:

  • Bachelors Degree in a technology related field or equivalent relevant work experience in related field
  • One year (or more) of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of LTIs, APIs, and learning management systems
  • Technical writing experience in the workplace (portfolio including more than one artifact)

Preferred QualificationsSeeking applicants with the following knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with little supervision
  • Detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Able to execute tasks in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment
  • Exercise sound judgment and ability to work effectively with a variety of people
  • Able to clearly communicate how to perform complex technical tasks

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree in a technology related field
  • Knowledge of XML, and Javascript
  • Basic knowledge of web programming
  • Knowledge of student information systems.
  • Experience providing technical support
  • Knowledge of current and emerging learning technologies
