We are specifically looking for someone who is a Practice Educator and experienced in working in children’s services. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the Social Work course, including teaching, assessments, placements and tutorials. You will teach students in person and online, work some Saturdays, you may undertake twilight teaching or marketing events and be involved in research and enterprise development.We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. We understand this may vary between different areas of the university as well as from one person to another. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy.This post is subject to a background disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service before any appointment can be confirmed.About youThe successful candidate will be an experienced practitioner in working with children, young people and families and in supporting and providing teaching to students either in practice and/or academic settings. They will need to demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development, good interpersonal skills and a high standard of oral and written communication. They will also need to evidence the ability to prepare teaching and assessment material using appropriate media including IT and be skilled in time management, the ability to work to deadlines and managing change. They will also need to evidence a commitment of inter-professional learning, an understanding of equality and diversity issues. The post will involve travel, for example travelling to placements.QualificationsEssential;

Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject
Master’s degree in relevant subject or a willingness to obtain one in an agreed timescale
Relevant professional qualification – Social Work and Practice Educator
Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale

Desirable;

Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
