About the role:
In this role, you will assist in delivering direct patient care in the post-natal unit, under the supervision and guidance of a Registered Midwife. You will work in partnership with women, midwives, medical officers, and other maternity care providers to ensure collaborative, woman-centred care.Your responsibilities will include providing midwifery care to women and their families, adhering to the AIM scope of practice, legal and ethical guidelines, and NSW Health and HNE Health policies and procedures. You will work within a care plan developed by a registered midwife, ensuring all aspects of midwifery care are delivered safely and effectively.Where you’ll be working:
Manning Maternity Services offers comprehensive, woman-centred care to mothers and babies from 34 weeks of gestation, focusing on those with low to moderate risk factors, as well as post-caesarean section care.The Maternity Unit is equipped with three birthing rooms, each with an ensuite, an assessment room, and a spacious bath designed for use during labour. Additionally, the unit provides 13 beds for the care of antenatal and postnatal mothers and their babies.Our dedicated staff are fully supported by the Midwifery Unit Manager, Clinical Midwifery Educators, and Clinical Midwifery Specialists to ensure the highest standard of care.Additional information:

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in the Bachelor of Midwifery program at University of Newcastle in second year, first semester or third year.
  • Currently enrolled or successfully completed Midwifery Practice & Woman with Complex Care Neets A-MIDI 2105.
