Job description: The Academic Programs Officer is responsible for the management and administration of academic programs in the School and for the day to day coordination of the activities associated with these programs primarily in relation to the Department of Nursing. The position is responsible for the effective and efficient high-level administration and management of teaching and learning to the subject coordinators and teaching staff in the School. This position also ensures the integrity and security of examinations and results to the point of verification, in partnership with University Services. It will be part of a team that manages all school-based student administration and teaching and learning and academic support services for the School.Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing high level support to academic staff members in relation to teaching matters, and making sure all aspects of subject set-up are completed in a timely manner
- Preparing examination board information, and organising supplementary assessment on the recommendation of Boards of Examiners, and coordination of Student Progress Committees of the school
- Maintaining and developing administrative systems, processes and practices with a view to continually improve the provision of support to the teaching staff of the School
Who We Are Looking For
You possess a strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating effective organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple functions and meet competing deadlines. Your excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, combined with a strong customer service ethic, enable you to provide clear advice and support to a diverse range of stakeholders. Additionally, you have experience facilitating and managing relationships with both internal and external partners. Your well-developed computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office (particularly Word and Excel) and familiarity with platforms such as Zoom, further supports your ability to contribute effectively in a dynamic environment.You will also have:
- An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- An ability to display Service Excellence by striving to deliver beyond expectations and taking ownership of delivery
- Ideally, a knowledge of the University or other tertiary education environment, and a proficiency in the use of StudentOne or other key Student and Client Management Systems
